    • Geographical distribution
    • This Spanish autocthonous red wingrape variety is mostly distributed across Castilla La-Mancha and Comunidad Valenciana, where it occupies ca. 60.000 ha. This variety is typically found in the DOs Utiel-Requena and Manchuela.

    • Agronomic features
    • It is highly susceptible to fungal species such as the oïdium (Uncinula necator) and botrytis(Botrytis cinérea), as well as to the cluster moth (Lobesia botrana), but it is resistant to the downy mildew ( Plasmopara vitícola), fungal diseases of wood, mites and the cicadellides. Although its budbreak occurs relatively late in the season, it is sensitive to cold temperatures.

    • Date of budbreak: medium-late

    • Oenological features
